The Bearded Bumble Bee
Nick
My dad and grandfather sparked my love for photography. As a child, my grandfather had various cameras, and I enjoyed watching him create stories from his travel slides. My dad also had a 35mm Kodak camera that I loved to use, capturing our trips and adventures. I began learning photography in high school, taking courses and working in the darkroom. While I started with small digital and disposable cameras, I longed for professional gear. In 2020, I reignited my passion by buying a Canon 90D DSLR, and in 2023, I earned a degree in Digital Photography. I started with the Canon 17-85 kit lens and learned to edit digital images. Soon after, I got my first professional lenses: a Canon 100-400 MKII and a Canon 100mm prime. Now, I use a Canon R5, a graduation gift from my wife. I seize every opportunity to photograph wildlife and landscapes whenever I travel.

My photography journey began with my father, who took photos with a Pentax camera he bought while in Labrador, Newfoundland. As a child, I enjoyed watching his slideshows and going through his many photos that captured family trips and fun times. I started with film photography using my own Pentax before switching to digital. Now, I use a Canon 90D DSLR with a 100mm macro lens. I love to travel and often photograph landscapes, usually with people in them. Lately, I've developed an interest in macro photography as I continue exploring this art with my husband.
